Saying the Quiet Part Out Loud
Article · Studio

I designed my high school yearbook cover. Sold my first website not long after — to a machining company, if you’re wondering how glamorous the beginning was. I’ve been doing creative work for other people ever since, including the years I had a manager, a badge, and a W2. Tony Voorhees Studio isn’t a new chapter. It’s the first time I’m saying the quiet part out loud.

Somewhere along the way, I stopped thinking of myself as someone who does product design or brand work and started noticing they were never really separate. The best ideas don’t stop at the edge of a discipline—they carry through when you treat the seams as part of the work. That’s mostly what this studio is: paying attention to the places other people skip past.

↳ Today

These days I work mostly with founders and small teams moving fast, where every decision touches the next one, and there’s no time to wait for three different people to weigh in. I like it there. It’s the same instinct I’ve had since the yearbook cover, just with better tools and slightly higher stakes.

↳ Checklist

So — what’s actually live right now:

  • +Site — Astro-built on GitHub Pages.
  • + Case studies — Seek AI, EVgo, Peggy the Panda, Wes Moore BMX.
  • +Engagement model — Basecamp, Summit, Expedition.

Now let’s see if I can cross enough t’s and dot a few more i’s before I push the DNS to tonyvoorhees.com.
